What You Should Look For
Screen Size and Installation Location
At the helm, the plotter must be easy to read even in sunlight and while in motion. Larger displays show more of the chart and are easier to split (chart, echosounder, instruments). Measure the available space at the helm or in the dashboard before purchasing.
Electronic Marine Charts
Marine charts such as Garmin BlueChart g3 or Navionics+ are available for specific regions—for example, the Mediterranean, Atlantic Coast, or Caribbean. Choose the chart based on your cruising area and check if it is compatible with your plotter model. We are happy to check this for you.
Fishfinders and Transducers
Plotters with a fishfinder function require a suitable transducer. The mounting type (transom, thru-hull, in-hull) and hull material are decisive. Clarify which transducer fits your boat and device before buying.
Networking and Mounts
Via NMEA 2000, you can connect plotters, sensors, autopilots, or MOB systems. For portable and fixed-mount devices, there are original mounts that hold the device securely even in rough seas.
